Low-carbon Construction and Sustainable Building Materials
Wednesday, September 11, 2024, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Hall C, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Dimičeva 13, Ljubljana
WHY:
Today, the construction sector faces a critical challenge—the green transition, which involves low-carbon construction and the use of sustainable building materials. The purpose of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS) event is to shed light on the key aspects of this transition and to present concrete approaches and solutions that the construction industry can adopt to reduce its environmental impact. We all recognize that the future lies in sustainable development, and the construction sector plays a crucial role in achieving these goals. We hope that today’s discussion will contribute to a better understanding and accelerate the necessary changes in practice.
The event will be hybrid. Participation is free of charge, with no registration fee. In-person attendance is available for up to the first 50 participants. A waiting list will also be maintained.

Conclusion
The event is primarily aimed at companies in the construction industry and the building materials sector that are striving for innovation and the development of new, sustainable solutions. It also offers an excellent opportunity for those involved in research and development of new products and technologies for building construction, providing insights into the latest trends and guidelines in low-carbon construction.
Teachers and professors from secondary and higher vocational construction schools are especially invited, as the event is an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas that will impact the education of future professionals in the construction sector. Additionally, the third part of the event is particularly important for representatives of public institutions (e.g., municipalities, housing funds, etc.) planning building renovations. Key information and practical guidelines will be presented on how to successfully carry out sustainable renovations, secure necessary funding, and take advantage of incentives available for improving the energy efficiency of public buildings.
In summary, this event is ideal for anyone looking to actively contribute to sustainable development and be part of the changes shaping the future of our environment.

Ongoing Engagement and Support:
Concurrently with the online survey as part of Work Package 2, GREET CE is conducting individual discussions with promising and innovative companies. These discussions aim to explore tailored support and opportunities that the GREET CE project can offer, enhancing the project’s impact and relevance to participants’ needs.
Future Engagements:
The project consortium is excited to announce that similar events will be held in other partner countries. Stakeholders are encouraged to stay updated with our event calendar available at: GREET CE Events
Are you looking for an informational, supportive, or collaborative network to develop an innovative product? We can help!
Our project provides free support to businesses through the I3 mechanism of the GREET CE (Green Transition in Central Europe) project. This support focuses on building new international consortia for project applications that address EU’s development goals in sustainability and the circular economy. The primary objective is to enhance your company’s growth capabilities within transnational value chains, whether through EU program grants, development funds, private investors (such as crowdfunding and venture capital), or other non-financial measures (such as connecting with relevant customers or strategic partners for business expansion).
Nearly 100 participants from 11 countries gathered for the P2GREEN EST project conference. They gained insights on the European Circular Economy Stakeholders Platform, circular procurement, and the importance of collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Attendees also explored the waste, water, and energy sectors in Moldova and Serbia, discovering investment opportunities and public procurement possibilities.
Networking was in full swing, with participants meeting potential business partners and discussing exciting projects like GREET CE. Key topics included biomass-based value chain development, novel biomass technologies, and automation solutions in the food, energy, and construction sectors.
Greet CE presented the project, alongside the I3 programme and coordinated one of the group workshops, focusing on opportunities and challenges of the green transition.
