🔍 What is the Pilot About?

The construction sector faces unprecedented pressure – from climate policy, resource scarcity, and market demand. But pressure creates opportunity. The Eco-construction pilot under the GREET CE programme repositions construction as a driver of green growth by unlocking circular, modular, bio-based, and digitally integrated solutions – ready for market, scalable across borders.

This isn’t about marginal improvement. It’s about building a resilient, smart and low-carbon construction industry through actionable innovation.

Within the pilot, we develop:

  • Next-gen reuse and deconstruction systems – using digital tools to trace, recover and reintegrate building materials.
  • Modular construction systems based on bio-based and waste-derived components – enabling speed, adaptability and climate performance.
  • Lifecycle management platforms – tracking material flows, enhancing efficiency, and connecting stakeholders across the value chain.
  • Crowdlending-enabled financing models – bundling energy efficiency projects and unlocking non-traditional capital.

Eco-construction builds on four pillars:
